The restoration process involves restoring existing leaded stained glass windows by a number of procedures in a series of steps. Normally, the panels are removed after rubbings are made of the work in place. Once taken apart, the glass is soaked, cleaned and laid out on the rubbings to ensure accuracy. The panels are then re-leaded with new metal, puttyed and re-glazed into the window sash. |
